Description

Camera lucida made from glass and copper alloy in rectangular wooden case. The camera lucida is an optical device used by artists as a drawing aid. It works by superimposing the image of the subject onto the surface which the artist is drawing on, thereby allowing the artist to see both images simultaneously.
