Description

Kaleidoscope and teleidoscope consisting of a red enamelled tube with copper alloy collars at each end. The instrument can be used as a kaleidoscope by inserting a selection of painted coloured glass discs or object chambers in place of the plain lens. Alternatively it can be used as a teleidoscope when used with an open lens which allows the user to create patterns by using their surroundings. There is a copper alloy tripod stand to support the instrument, two wooden dust caps and a variety of coloured glass accessories. The accessories include five hand painted coloured glass discs, one frosted glass disc, an object chamber containing fragments of coloured and painted glass, a collection of loose glass fragments and beads, and two copper alloy interchangeable collars. The rectangular wooden fitted case has a lid with metal hinges, hooks and keyhole. There is a trade card pasted onto the inside of the case lid and an accompanying instruction leaflet.
