Description

Wood framed lantern slide with cog wheel winding mechanism. The circular glass image, surrounded by a brass alloy plate fixed with 4 brass alloy screws, depicts shooting stars. The front of the frame has 4 labels - one reads "8", two read "Bottom" and the fourth reads "To condensor" with a downwards pointing arrow. A further arrow is drawn onto the surface of the frame and the makers" mark Newton & Co is stamped into the wood. The edge of the slide is marked with a further arrow, on the rear of the slide a further arrow points upwards. A "U" is printed and stuck to the top edge of the slide.
