Description

A cylindrical pillar stands on a compass joint on a folding, flat tripod foot. A spring stage is attached to the pillar above a concaved mirror. The body tube pushes into a sleeve supported by a brass ring attached to the top of the pillar. A rack and pinion on the side of the sleeve moves an inner cylinder, holding the body, up and down for focusing. The accessories include: seven objectives, a Lieberkuhn and carrier to fit the nosepiece, a hand magnifier, a specimen compressor, a brass rouge box, a brass talc and split-ring box, stage forceps, a glass trough with a brass rim, a diffusing glass, brass forceps, two dissecting pins, five glass slides, five bone sliders and five opaque wooden sliders. There is also a brass stand with a bull's-eye lens and a candle-holder. The fitted case is mahogany with brown velvet in the lid. Behind the velvet is an oval pasteboard screen that fits over the eyepiece to shade the candle light.
