Description

Compound Histological Microscope with objectives and fitted case. The blackened-copper alloy tripod foot of the microscope supports the limb and stage on trunnions. The body tube moves on rack work for coarse focusing and micrometre-screw moves the upper part of the limb for fine focusing. The rectangular stage has a U-shaped aperture and a mechanical bracket to hold specimens. An Abbe illuminator with an iris diaphragm is set below the stage on a pivoting mount with screw focusing. A Plano-concave mirror is mounted on a sliding sleeve on the lower end of the limb. The eyepiece pushes into a draw tube that extends from the top of the body and a double objective changer is fitted to the nose. The mahogany case also holds three objectives in cans.
