A complete example of the 'Jones's Most Improved' microscope in good condition. The folding tripod foot supports a pillar with a compass joint to the square-sectioned limb. Onto the limb slides the stage with wings for accessories and a substage mirror. On top is an arm to hold the tapered body-tube. Accessories include: six objective lenses in a rotating disc, a low power lens with an eye-cup, and two lenses with lieberkuhns. Stage accessories are a spring stage, a three-wing stage, a watch-glass, a fish-plate, a live-box, a cone diaphragm, stage forceps and a lieberkuhn with its carrier. Other accessories are: a brass wet cell, tweezers, seven assorted sliders, three wooden sliders, glass strip and an ivory talc box. The fitted box is mahogany.
