Description
Collodion positive on glass (ambrotype), enclosed and cased, 1850s. Portrait of a man, seated three-quarter length his left arm is on a table by his top hat. Photograph is hand tinted. Enclosed in a gilt frame with an arched-top copper alloy mat. Embedded in a half-case of wood covered in thin leather.
The photograph is one of three, depicting members of the same family (Companion of Inv. 58627 and Inv. 63540).
