Description

Horizontal circle divided for the 8 Italian winds into 45° sectors. Central fixed compass with lid. Rotating cross of 4 moulded slit sights, one of which is removable. This latter sight is attached to an arm which terminates in a tangent rule. The underside of the plate has three fixtures presumably for a stand support.

Ovoid case with hinged lid. Wood covered in dyed leather, gold stamped. Paper lining.
