Description

Part of a large clock possibly from a building. Spherical object formed of two leather domes joined with two rims that are fastened together with screws that have felt coverings on their heads. Both of the domes are segmented, with two rows of holes circling the casing. A thin steel rod with a square handle at each end runs through the sphere, with a small metal cylinder at its centre. The rod supports a disc of the same diameter as the sphere and there is a painted red half disc with a large gap in its middle that joins to it at a right angle. The outside of the casing is covered with grey-brown paint. The inside of the casing has lined paper with Roman numerals.
