Description

This brass instrument is carried on trunions on a heavy tripod foot. A lever on the stand allows the limb to be locked at the desired angle. The circular stage has mechanical plate with a pivoting spring clip to hold specimens. A condenser mounting with an aperture disk is set below the stage. A plano-concave mirror is mounted on a pivoting arm at the lower end of the limb. The binocular body is mounted on a rack and pinion, for focusing. A threaded steel rod, with a milled head, on the side of the body operates the fine focus. A double objective changer is screwed to the nose. The wooden case is lined with green felt. It also holds two objectives, three dark wells, a trough on a glass plate, a specimen plate and a brass cylinder.
