The copper alloy body tube holds four lenses and the lower, narrow section of the body has an external thread to take objectives. The body is supported by a ring on an arm attached to the top of the square cross sectioned pillar. The cruciform stage has a recessed stage hole, a pinhole, two slots for accessories and two spring clips, shaped to hold glass phials, are attached to the underside. The pillar is mounted on a cradle joint on the inside the case and folds flat when not in use. A section of the side of the case folds out when the instrument is raised. The accessories present are five objectives, a spring stage, a copper alloy substage cone, a live box, stage forceps, a Lieberkühn, a Lieberkühn carrier, a glass disk two lenses in a threaded setting, an ivory talc box with talc, pill box containing cover slips, a copper alloy arm, hand forceps, a glass phial, a fishplate with a green ribbon, and a superstage bull's-eye lens on long copper alloy pin and swivelling arm. The case is mahogany and the supports are faced with green felt.
