Description

Greenough' Type Stereoscopic Dissecting Microscope, by Watson. The instrument's stage is supported by a cylindrical pillar on a Y-shaped foot. Two spring clips hold specimens on the glass stage plate and a Plano-concave mirror is mounted below. The optical and electrical components are carried on rackwork above the stage. Eyepieces drop into tubes on the binocular head and the eyepiece mounts pivot to adjust the inter-ocular distance. Objectives are mounted in pairs on dovetail plates. These fit slots on a turret that rotates around the light source. Wooden arm rests attach to each side of the stage.

The instrument is stored in a mahogany carry case, fitted to hold the instrument and its accessories. The instrument has a set of three pairs of objectives of different powers (two pairs are mounted on the instrument's turret).
