Description

The curved limb is carried on trunnions and stands on a horseshoe foot. The optical components are held by a dovetail slot with a locking screw, on the upper end of the limb. Three objectives are held in a rotating changer and the binocular head pivots to adjust the inter-ocular distance. The right hand eyepiece can be focused independently. The stage and sub stage assembly are mounted on rackwork at the lower end of the limb. Milled screws operate the fine and coarse focus. The stage is mechanical and two Vernier scales show the degree of movement in each direction. Specimens are held on the stage plate between two sliding brackets. Below the stage are a condenser, two brackets for filters and an iris diaphragm. The Plano-concave mirror is set on a bracket on the foot. The wooden carrying case also holds a leather covered box with two condensers and a cardboard box with a dark ground illuminator.
