Description

The steel beam, of leaf-shaped section, has round box ends. The shears have teardrop-shaped sight-hole, blue steel anti-friction plates and a stirup pendant. Brass pans 63mm dia, are suspended by green twist cords.

Mahogany MUB with plate hinges and spring button catch, has one square weight pen on the right. A wood block drilled for the nest of weights is on the left. Two home-made additional blocks have been fitted to hold the beam. Habd-written label inside the lid.

15 weights of assorted shapes and sizes; 4 cup weights, 5 roughly cut brass square weights stamped with a lion, 2 roughly cut brass square weights stamped with the apothecaries symbol, 1 small circular weight stamped 'GR under a crown, 2 grey weights which appear home made.
