Description
The brass beam is leaf-shaped in cross-section and has oval box ends. The beam is satmped CLASS 1 2 OZ. The shears has steel bushed bearings and is stamped crown over VR over 349. Heavy brass pans, with raised edges turned over, 81mm dia, are suspended by brass chains.
Mahogany MUB has plate hinges and the hook on the front, Inside there is one square weight pen on the left. The bottom is lined with dark violet velvet. A paper label inside the lid has printed name James Minn, below it another label states Oxford, (apparently the name of the owner?).
5 weights of assorted shapes and sizes. 5 circular weights which fit inside each other are marked VR over 349 and 'TROY'. 7 circular weights are stamped with circles. 4 circular weights have a raised lip around the edge, one of which is stamped ER over 534. 8 rectangular weights stamped VR over 29 and 1 rectangular weight which has had silver metal added to it.
