Description

English terrestrial globe on a four-legged mahogany stand. 19th century.

Lacquered paper gores printed from engraved plates and coloured by hand. Inscribed, 'OUTLINE of the EARTH, BY J. MANNING'; Not dated. Lake Tchad is shown; this was first seen in 1823.
