Description

Brown patterned leather outside, green leather inside, with textile band attached to back. Empty. The initials J.B.S. on an item derived from the laboratory of J. S. Haldane (Sanderson's nephew) indicate that it belonged to Sir John Scott Burdon Sanderson (1828-1905), professor of physiology and then of medicine at Oxford.

Among items found in the private laboratory of J. S. Haldane at his house, Cherwell Edge, Oxford, before it was demolished.
