Description

Albumen print mounted on white glazed card (cabinet format). A turned circular blackwood box fitted to contain drill-bits, displayed with its lid removed and drill-bits in situ, together with an ornamental turned cube (as in 12761). Vertical format. Foxed.

One of a group of 8 such photographs (12754 to 12761), presumably made for, and showing turned objects made by, T. H. T. Hopkins (1833-1885) (compare also 12723, 12724, 12725, and 12726). Taunt had a branch studio at High Wycombe between about 1875 and 1889.
