Description

A cylindrical pillar stands on a flat folding tripod base. The optical components and stage are attached to the pillar by a compass joint. An arm supports a cylinder that holds the body tube and two telescopic struts connected to the base steady the assembly. The body can be racked up and down within the cylinder. The mechanical stage is operated by two double mill-edged screws and has a copper alloy bracket to hold specimens. A pinhole at the front of the stage carries a bull's-eye lens on a pivoting arm. A cylindrical arm below the stage supports a copper alloy ring, with pinholes for substage accessories, and a plano-concave mirror on sliding sleeves.
