Description

Reflecting microscope objective, manufactured by Beck. Objective consists of a steel conical shaped body, with a reflective disc contained within the nose. The wide end of the objective is covered by a blackened metal cap which rotates in order to control the position of the lens. A graded scale on the side of the objective records the location of the lens.

The objective is stored in a wooden case with a clasp fastening. The interior of the case is fitted to hold accessories. Also present in the case are two tightening screws and a glass slide with a reflective spot in its centre. The slide is stored in a card case. The objective itself slots into the case via a wooden joint, attached via two screws to the base of the objective.
