Description

The stand is two wooden boards screwed together at right angles. The optical components are held by a screw clamp. A compass joint on the clamp supports the body tube in a sleeve. The body can be racked up and down within the sleeve, for focusing, by a milled knob on the side of the instrument. The eyepiece screws into the top of the body and the lower end has a conical nose with an internal thread. The rectangular stage is attached to a plate on the stand. It has two pinholes and a sliding bracket to support specimens. Below the stage a concave mirror in a horseshoe mount is fixed to the stand by a steel pin.
