Description

The body tube has an eyepiece with two convex lenses and a field lens. The objective lenses are held in their settings by copper alloy collars. The body tube and objective screws into a ring on an arm attached to the top of the pillar. The stage is a copper alloy ring, with a flat section. There is a single pinhole for accessories and two screws hold a leaf spring beneath the stage. The stage mounting can be racked up and down for focusing and the pillar screws into a copper alloy socket in the lid of the case. Accessories comprise copper alloy tweezers, stage forceps on a steel pin with a black and white ivory disk, a steel pin and two scalpels with ivory handles and three objectives. The case is softwood covered with black fish skin and lined with red velvet. The inside of the lid is padded with red silk.
