Description

A brass cylinder, in three sections stands on a compass joint on a mahogany box. A window is cut in the lower part of the middle section where the plane mirror is housed and a mill-edged knob adjusts the angle of the mirror. The rectangular brass stage, with two spring clips for specimens, is seated at the top of the cylinder. A collar at the rear of the stage holds the focusing mechanism, which consists of a cylinder with a double mill-edged screw at its lower end. A bar, with a square cross section, extends from the mechanism with a brass ring attached to the top. The lens assembly consists of an eyecup to which two lenses are screwed. This pushes into the brass ring.

An ivory slider and two glass slides, with specimens are also present.
