Description
Watson photomicrographic camera with Prontor shutter, with additional lens, collar and two associated documents, in wooden case. The photomicrographic camera has a Prontor shutter that is attached to the camera's main body. A viewing eyepiece is attached and extends at a right angle. The camera also has a wind knob, a rewind knob, body catch and release button. The instrument is intended primarily for determining exposure times for photomicrography. Its sensitivity means it can be used for most microscopic techniques. It is an integrating meter, measuring the total light over the field which is the most convenient measurement for most work including all bright field and phase contrast applications but is not suitable for determining exposure times for certain specimens illuminated by dark ground or fluorescence techniques as the total light may depend more on the number of particles in the field than on their brightness.
