Description

The instrument consists of two crystal prisms set in copper alloy brass a cylinders that push into blackened brass sleeves. These are mounted in a dovetail channel on a brass copper alloy plate, inscribed with the manufacturer's name. The inter-ocular distance between the sleeves can be altered by a mill edged knob on the other side of the plate which operates a rack and pinion for each mounting. The box case is covered with brown leather lined with purple velvet. The base is covered with stippled leather. There is a push stud catch at the centre of the front of the box case which is covered in black fish skin and lined with green velvet.
