Description
A double-image prism is made from Iceland spar (calcite) and is located in the copper alloy tube that inserts into a microscope. Above the prism is a double-wedge prism of flint glass to render the light achromatic. Symmetrical tubes take the rays to the eyes, and intraocular distance is varied by rackwork. Two eyepieces are also present.
The case is covered with red leather and inside, lined with purple silk and blue felt.
