Description
The body tube of this copper alloy microscope has a blackened eyecup with a sliding dustcover. The wide upper part of the body holds a field lens and is supported on a copper alloy ring on the stand. The narrower lower tube has an external thread for objectives and a Lieberkühn carrier slides over it. The vertical pillar consists of two adjacent bars that are held in a socket, with a shaped supporting strut, on the base. The front bar holds the cruciform stage and is fixed to the base. The rear bar carries the arm holding the body and can be moved for focusing. Fine focusing is by a vertical screw. The stage has two slots with leaf springs for accessories. A circular spring stage fits the stage hole and a cone condenser is fitted beneath the stage. The base is a square wooden board. A concave mirror in a horseshoe mount stands on a disk at the centre of the base.
