Description

The microscope's base is made of stained oak, mahogany and fruitwood. A shaped brass plate supports the split side pillar and the mirror. The stage is cruciform and fixed to the front half of the pillar. The rear half slides relative to the front for coarse focusing. The optical system has two eye lenses and field lens. The accessories comprise six objectives, a spring stage, stage forceps and pin, stage bull's eye, large fish plate, ebony disc with inset ivory, a Lieberkühn and carrier, a cone condenser, a live box, a hand magnifier, a copper alloy disc, two dished glass discs, two stops, an ivory talc box, a pyramidal case, a key to the case and a pasteboard case containing three glass phials and two quill and hair brushes (that have never been used).
