Description

The eyepiece pushes into the body which screws into a ring on the end of an arm. The objective screws into the other side of the ring. The length of the arm is adjusted by a rack and pinion on a pivot at the top of the limb. This facilitates control of the position of the body over the stage. The limb has a square cross section and the stage is supported by a sleeve that can be racked up and down on the limb for focusing. A sub stage condensing lens is mounted on an L shaped arm on a sliding sleeve below the stage. Below this, on another sliding sleeve, is a plane mirror on a horseshoe mount. The rectangular stage has a recessed hole, three pin holes and a bracket to hold specimens. The limb is attached to a turned pillar by a compass joint. The instrument is copper alloy and stands on a flat tripod foot inscribed with the manufacture's name.

The accessories comprise nine objectives, two set in Lieberkühn's and one with a cap, stage forceps on a steel pin with a black and white disk, a Lieberkühn without a lens mounted on a copper alloy post, a super stage condenser lens, a sub stage cone to eliminate oblique illumination, a copper alloy setting with a thread that fits the arm but no lens, a live box, an ivory talc box and a Martin triple stage. The fitted case is mahogany is mahogany with green wool on the supports.
