Description

The 'portable' was first introduced c. 1847 and stayed in production for the rest of the century. The legs of the tripod base can fold together, and when the body tube is unscrewed the legs fit inside it for stowage in the 9 x 5 x 2 inch box. A remarkably full set of accessories was packed around the folded stand.
