Description

The pillar has a square cross section and supports a brass ring on an arm. The ring has an internal thread and carries three objectives. The lenses are on pivoting mountings so can be used in any combination. The stage is a brass ring that is recessed to hold a disc or watch glass and has a pinhole adjacent to the pillar. To hold specimens, a second thin brass ring is held against the underside of the stage by two screw-mounded springs. The stage is held on the pillar by a sliding bracket, secured by a mill-edged screw. Fine focus is by a vertical screw at the rear of the pillar. A substage concave mirror is mounted on the oval, black mahogany base.
