Description

The copper alloy instrument stands on a flat tripod foot.  A cylindrical pillar holds the mounting for the stage by a pivoting joint with a tightening wing nut. The stage is inscribed with the maker's name and consists of a plate with a circular, threaded hole and a bracket to support specimens. A long lever extending down moves the position of the stage. A plate below the stage supports the condenser which holds a tube with lenses. A pivoting bar below the condenser mounting has five holes to take the horseshoe mount of the plano-concave mirror. A mill-edged knob at the rear of the stage racks a square bar that holds the body tube on an arm. The eyepiece is Huygenian and no objectives are present.
