Description

This binocular microscope stands on a 'Jackson claw foot', which is brass and finished in dark enamel. Trunions hold the pillar at the level of the stage. Below the cross section of the pillar is circular and a collar holds the plano-concave mirror. The stage is circular with a black glass upper surface and two slide clips. The upper surface of the stage rotates around the central stage hole. The upper part of the pillar has a hexagonal cross section and a semi-circular lacquered brass collar, that caries the body tubes, fits into groves in the sides. The back of the pillar is engraved with the maker's name. The inter-ocular distance is adjusted by a pair of mill-edged screws that work a rack at the back of each cylinder. At the lower end of the body is a mounting with an internal thread for an objective lens.

Two matching magnifying eyepiece lenses designed to fit binocular body tubes.
