Description

The stage is supported by three pillars standing on a wooden board. Two of these are set at the front corners of the stage and one larger pillar at the rear. A rack and pinion, operated by two milled knobs, in the main pillar raises a post that supports the body on an arm. The Huygenian eyepieces push into the body tubes which are mounted on a housing, holding a prism, on the supporting arm. The objectives are held on a mounting below the arm. The plano-concave mirror is held in a horseshoe mount on the main pillar. The microscope is stored in a wooden rectangular fitted case with a sliding wooden board base and hinged door.
