Description

The eye lenses are set in a steel tube which drops into the top of the body tube. This is in two parts. The inner copper alloy tube is graduated and telescopes out of the main tube. The body is carried on a rack and pinion on an arm attached to the cylindrical limb. Two double mill-edged knobs rack the body up and down for focusing. The stage is square with a circular stage hole. Below the stage is an Abbe condenser and below this is a pivoting sub stage assembly with a racking mechanism. A bar below the stage holds the Plano-concave mirror. The instrument stands on trunnions on a heavy horseshoe foot.
