Description
Circular scale of degrees clockwise from north 90-[0], 90-[0], [0]-90, [0]-90, divided by 90, 10, 2. The graduations within each 10° span are numbered 1 2 3 4. The four fixed sights are placed at the quarter points between the cardinal points which are named in Latin on the strapwork. The alidade is labelled "Meridies" and "Septentrio". All the sights are slit sights. On the underside is a socket for a stand.
