English 9-inch slide rule
Ivory and brass. Signed, "I: Rowley. fec:"; Undated; c.1700
The rule was described by Thomas Wright in his catalogue of the Orrery Collection (1731) as "A 9 inch Ivory Sliding Gunter". The scales marked are M[eridian line], S[ines], T[angents], E[qual] P[arts], N[umbers] and C[hords].
