Description
Albumen print mounted on card, cabinet format. Bust of Alexander Dickson; it looks like carved stone. Dickson (1836-1887) was professor of botany successively at Dublin (1866-68), Glasgow (1868-79), and Edinburgh (1879-87), The bust and photograph seem likely to date from shortly after his untimely death.
