Description

Early gelatine print mounted on card, cabinet format. Portrait of Michael Faraday, head and shoulders, turned to left but looking front, vignetted. The wording of the photographer's advertisement and the date code indicate that this is a surprisingly late (1902) commercial issue of a portrait of Faraday, who died in 1867.
