"SANDHURST PROTRACTOR / ELLIOTT BROS. 449 STRAND LONDON" punched on reverse and "ELLIOTT BROTHERS / OPTICIANS / 449. STRAND LONDON." on slip case. "A.H.M." punched on obverse and "A M" scratched on lead weight - presumably for an owner.

Written in pen on adhesive label on slip case "Sandhurst Protractor / R.T. Gunther".

Rectangular protractor with lead bob clinometer on obverse and surveying scales and tables on reverse; in slip case. Elliott Brothers were at 449 Strand 1863-86.
