Description

Compound microscope by W. Ladd with removable stage and draw tube with eyepiece. Loose with the microscope are two sets of draw tubes with eyepieces and lenses and three objectives in copper-alloy cases. Two blue board boxes of glass slides also accompany the microscope. The first box contains 29 glass slides including 15 photomicrographs, including one of the moon. Box two contains 26 glass and board slides, many paper covered.

Probably made by Ladd; it has his registered chain focus which was in the 1851 exhibition.
