Description

Mahogany box with hinged lid, opening into two parts to form two platforms for the dissecting microscope. A swivelling copper alloy arm to hold the microscope lens is mounted beneath hinged lid. Stored in the box is a heavy base and vertical copper alloy support of potentially a Bull's Eye illuminator lens. A separated copper alloy screw handle is also present in box.

Microscope belonged to Professor McIntosh, the uncle of R. T. Gunther.
