Description

Compendium of projection microscopes. Lucernal and solar microscopes by Adams. On shelf with scopes are two small wood shelves with eight wooden sliders numbered 1-8, each containing five specimens.

Lucernal microscope on tribrach and pillar stand supports a pyramidal projection box. To one end is a ground glass projection screen, below which is the bracket that holds a telescoping brass tube carrying the eye locating aperture.

The brass solar microscope, with opaque specimen chamber, has a square plate with screw holes in opposite corners to attach it to a window shutter with the long narrow mirror projecting outside the window.

Accessories in handled wooden case include: eight ebony opaque specimen sliders in two mahogany trays, two iron pegs with flattened ends and a long handle with Hooke joint and key to adjust the rackwork on the specimen holders.

With separated wooden supports and brass handle within interior of case. Case is well-used and is largely scratched and damaged on exterior
