Description

The instrument stands on a wooden box base with a concave mirror at its centre. Three scrolled legs support the circular stage and body. The stage has a keyhole slot and two pinholes for accessories. Two spring clips, shaped to hold glass phials, are attached to the underside of the stage. The body tube slides into a sleeve mounted above the stage. It has an eyepiece with two lenses and a field lens. The cylindrical nosepiece, attached to the base of the body tube, has an external thread for the objectives.

The drawer in the base holds six objectives, a spring stage, a Lieberkuhn in a can, a Lieberkuhn carrier, a live box, a cone diaphragm, a fishplate, brass forceps, stage forceps, an ivory talc box and five bone sliders. The pyramid case is mahogany.
