Description
Stereoscopic collodion positives on glass (ambrotypes) of a marble or ceramic sculpture or figurine of a classical female nude sitting on a lion. Plain black background (showing interference colours). Black arched-top matts. Two separate glass plates bound together. Shorter than the standard stereoscopic format. Companion of 14755, which bears a printed maker's or supplier's label of Bland & Long, 'Philosophical & Photographical Instrument Makers & Operative Chemists', London. The theme is usually termed Una and the lion.
