Description

The Monocular body tube is mounted on a rack and pinion, for focusing, on the shaped limb. A screw for fine focusing is set at the lower end of the body. The eyepiece pushes into a drawtube which pushes into the body. The limb is held on trunnions on two pillars which stand on a disc on the flat tripod base. The mechanical stage is attached to the limb at the level of the trunnions. Three knobs adjust the position of the stage plate on which a sliding bracket with a pinhole to support specimens and accessories is set. Below the stage is a rotating disk with four apertures and a mounting, with two rack and pinion mechanisms, to hold a condenser. A post with a triangular cross section extends below the stage and a sliding sleeve supports the plano-concave mirror. The wooden case holds a wooden box of accessories. They comprise two objectives in cans, a second eyepiece, a glass disk in a copper alloy setting, a camera lucida, two polarizing prisms, a copper alloy tube with an external thread at one end, a rotating nosepiece for two objectives, three copper alloy collars, two with threads and a specimen chamber on a copper alloy plate.
