Description
The cylindrical limb of the microscope is carried on trunnions standing on a flat tripod foot. The stage is mounted above the trunnions. The stage plate has a sliding bracket to support the specimens and a rotating disc with three apertures is attached to its underside. The microscope body tube is mounted on a rack and pinion. The eyepiece pushes into a graduated draw tube that extends from the top of the body. The accessories with this instrument are: a specimen compressor; stage forceps; six objectives in cans with removable lenses and attachments; a threaded copper alloy collar; a blue glass filter set in wood; an eyepiece micrometre with a removable slide; a trough; a glass disc set in a copper alloy plate; a specimen mount with a cork disc; and a copper alloy collar with an aperture disc attached.
The microscope and accessories are housed in a hinged wooden box with a lock mechanism. Inside the box there are wooden stands for the instrument, some of which are lined with black and blue felt.
