Description

Compound microscope of the Nuremberg style, with eyepiece and draw tube, eyecup and objective.

The stand is a rectangular box with one side cut away to allow light to the mirror, mounted on a spindle. Slots are cut in the sides of the box and a curved wire is set at this level to support specimens. Two copper alloy rods are attached to the cut away side of the stand. The body pushes into a mount and on the top of the stand and a draw tube with two lenses and a dust cover, or eyecup, pushes into the body mount. The objective screws onto the nose piece of the draw tube.
