Description
Oblong album bound in wine red half-leather and brown cloth. Entitled Gunther's 'First Photograph Album' (later, by A. E. Gunther; though 11846 predates it). Contents date from 1890 to 1919, and reflect R. T. Gunther's social and family life and especially his life as a student and young don in Oxford, with interesting Oxford groups and river scenes. There are also some trick photographs. Processes include albumen prints and gelatine prints of various types.
