Description

Gelatine print, mounted on card, loosely enclosed within two folders with Elliott & Fry's printed details on fronts, the outer folder stiff boards in the style of a bookbinding. Silver tarnishing. Portrait of J. W. Gordon, head and shoulders, turned to right but head facing front. Gordon was honorary secretary of the RMS in 1908-09, resigning the position on the issue of admitting women to full fellowship rights, of which he was the leading opponent.
